Computers and Technology

According to the article, "Computers and Technology" computers are being integrated into educational systems at a rapid rate. It is becoming the new phase. Computers allow teachers to connect with students via email and place notes online for students connivance. However, not all technology is positive. The author describes in his article that having all the answers in front of you eliminates other types of resources. Students no longer research in books for answers and don't interact with the teacher for help. The author also points out that having access to all this information allows students to simply copy another's work. One can easily go online and purchase a paper or take paragraphs off of Wikipedia. I agree with the author of "Computers and Technology." Having everything based off of the Internet makes finding information too quickly. I can hardly remember the last time I sat in the library looking through books to write a research paper. Instead, I go on the Internet and simply type in the subject I am looking for. Also, I think interaction between students and teachers has been dramatically decreased. Students don't stay after to ask for help, and if they did need help they would email the teacher instead. However, I do believe some Internet capabilities should be used. For example, having college email and blackboard does help alot. Blackboard allows teacher to set up discussions and post assignments for their students and the email allows them to get a hold of each other. I think technology is helpful in the classroom, but using it for everything can cause students to take it advantage of the easy access.
